Our Educational Philosophy
At Morrow Memorial Preschool, we believe children learn best through play. Our curriculum is built on open-ended materials and activities that are accessible to every child, regardless of where they are in their developmental stage. This means each child can participate meaningfully, continue learning, and experience success every day.
Each day at Morrow, children engage in diverse activities designed to support their social, emotional, and intellectual development. Our dedicated teachers use a thoughtfully designed program with intentionally selected classroom materials to help each child build a strong foundation for future learning. Through a beautiful balance of guided experiences and free play, we create a nurturing environment where children learn at their own pace and in ways that best suit their individual needs.
Our program fosters enthusiastic, confident learners by encouraging children to be active, creative, and critical thinkers, helping them grow into lifelong learners with a love of discovery.
We are deeply committed to outdoor play for all its benefits: physical health, social growth, creativity, risk-taking, and overall well-being. We also value community service and encourage children to care for one another through age-appropriate acts of kindness and service.
Our Developmental Goals
We design our environment, daily routines, and interactions to support growth in key developmental domains that are vital to each child’s overall learning and well-being:
Social/Emotional: Helping children feel safe and welcomed, build friendships, and develop self-confidence, independence, empathy, and conflict-resolution skills.
Cognitive: Fostering curiosity, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration through hands-on discovery.
Physical: Developing coordination, strength, and confidence with activities that use large and small muscles while teaching safety and promoting healthy habits.
