Parents
Parents are an integral part of Morrow Memorial Preschool experience. Support of our families has helped make Morrow Memorial Preschool a warm and caring place.
The cooperative school gives parents the opportunity to see firsthand the growth and development of their child in a loving and secure environment.
In order to maintain the quality of our school, parents are expected to participate in the following activities:
- Attend class as a helping parent on an equal basis with all other parents to assist the teacher (approximately seven to ten times in a year.)
- Provide a healthy snack for the class when scheduled to be the helping parent. Please remember that MMPS is peanut-free.
- Participate in a school clean-up days/nights. Families who do not fulfill this obligation will be charged $200 and may lose future registration opportunities.
- Support our school fundraising efforts and participate in our Bake Sale.
- Provide assistance to the Fundraising or Social Committees or serve on the Preschool Board.
- Provide transportation on school trips.
- Attend Parent-Teacher conferences in February/March.
Helping Parent Responsibilities:
- Arrive at 8:45 AM to help with preschool preparations (12:15 PM for afternoon class.)
- Help the children remove coats, hats, and gloves.
- Help children with play activities that are set up around the room during creative play.
- Help with clean up including washing glue brushes, paintbrushes, and containers; and sponging off easels, walls, and floors; wiping up the sink and walls; cleaning the snack table before and after the children eat snack. We all work together to help but these are the areas where help is most needed.
- Help your child set up snack; put out napkins, snack, cups and pitchers for water.
- Help the children dress for outdoor play.
- Place pictures or projects to be taken home into cubbies.
- Help with supervision in the playground or in the downstairs play area.
